On 11 November 2017 settlers held a procession in Hebron, heading from the settlement of Admot Yishai in the neighborhood of Tel Rumeidah (in Area H2) to Otniel Ben Knaz Tomb, which is located in the section of the city formally handed over to Palestinian control (Area H1). The Israeli military closed the shops along the procession’s route and placed the streets off limits to Palestinian cars and pedestrians. In the course of the procession, settlers tore down Palestinian flags from the closed shop fronts. Palestinian youths who were on hand, protested the settlers’ actions. In response, the soldiers tried to chase them off, and one of them beat a 16-year-old Palestinian in the head with the barrel of his gun. The injured boy was taken to hospital, where he received medical care and was then discharged. Filmed by Jamal Abu S’ifan. The video was edited by B’Tselem.
