Rouhani to Macron: Nuclear Deal Preservation Needs Faster Steps

  Iranian President Hassan Rouhani urges the remaining signatories to the 2015 nuclear deal to step up their efforts to salvage the accord. Rouhani was speaking with his French counterpart over the phone. The Iranian president added, despite the US withdrawal from the agreement, Tehran has complied with all its commitments. Rouhani said, Iran wants to preserve the accord. But he noted, Tehran will take other measures if the European Union fails to propose a clear plan for monetary transactions, oil and insurance. Emmanuel Macron said, France is fully committed to the nuclear deal. He salso said the EU is working on different trade and financial mechanisms to safeguard the accord.
