  Kola’s new surface-to-air regiment began their anti-aircraft duty in combat readiness at the Novaya Zemlya archipelago. The regiment is equipped with the upgraded S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, which are capable of hitting the enemy targets in a radius of several hundred kilometres. The surface-to-air missile regiment are the first full-fledged military unit of the Northern Fleet, formed on the islands of the Arctic Ocean.
