  French aircraft today continued their bombardment in Mali of the same Qatar- and Saudi-funded, -supplied, and -directed extremist jihadist apparatus which France, the U.K., and the Obama Administration was allied with in the overthrow of Qaddafi, and is still allied with in the attack on the Syrian government.

  The conflict threatens the entire West and North African region with permanent warfare based on clans, tribes, and the pseudo-religion of the Salafists which will lead to the elimination the sovereign nations of the region. At the behest of their ally, the British monarchy, the Qatar, and Saudi Arabian monarchies are supplying the funds, supplies, and foreign personnel leading to this conflagration.

  North African officials are worried about the impact on their own unstable security situation. Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki said this weekend: “The situation in Mali has always worried us because we have begun to understand that our ‘jihadists’ … have ties with these terrorist forces,” as reported in Middle East Online. He referred to Tunisia becoming a corridor for arms passing through Libya to Tunisia, and then to Mali.

  France intends to send 2,500 of its soldiers to Mali, according to the French Defense Ministry, to be joined by a proposed force of 3,300 West African troops.

  The Obama White House offered support to France on Jan. 11, the day the attack began. Defense Secretary Panetta made specific the manner in which the U.S.A. would support the French (see accompanying slug), despite the Dec. 3 warning, with respect to the Mali crisis by Africom Commander General Ham: “By and large, we think our best efforts are when we are supporting and enabling African nations and African regional organizations to achieve their ends.” The British are also sending aircraft, and Denmark also plans to cooperate, according to media reports.

  The timing of the jihadist attacks is raising questions. Just before the Jan. 11 French intervention, the jihadists seized the town of Konna, below the line dividing the jihadist-occupied North from the South, which was the pretext for the initial French move. Then yesterday evening and today, just before the UN Security Council meeting on Mali that the French called for, the jihadists, despite French bombardments, were able to occupy Diabaly, a town farther south, and closer to the capital, Bamako than Konna. This will play to the advantage of the French government, the U.K., and Obama, in their drive to get support from the Security Council.
