Palestinian protesters clashed with Israeli forces on Friday near the site of a recent demolition of houses which Israel claims were built too close to its security barrier with the West Bank. Last month Israeli crews began demolishing dozens of Palestinian homes on the outskirts of an east Jerusalem neighbourhood, in one of the largest operations of its kind in years.
