  The New York Times (Archived link here due to paywall) has an article out which claims the G.O.P. is targeting “researchers who study disinformation ahead of the 2024 election.”

  After all the “disinformation” and false predictions about global warming, which wasn’t a catchy enough phrase to gain traction, so now they call it climate change, and the so-called “science” behind the Covid lockdowns, masking, untested vaccines and school closures, it is probably a good thing that Republicans are targeting those that have protected the very people that have lied to Americans time after time after time.

  On Capitol Hill and in the courts, Republican lawmakers and activists are mounting a sweeping legal campaign against universities, think tanks and private companies that study the spread of disinformation, accusing them of colluding with the government to suppress conservative speech online.

  Good. Scientists and so-called researchers colluded with the government, who then colluded with social media and big tech to censor the truth. Not just “conservative speech,” but actual truth was censored as websites like ANP were demonetized, shadow banned, had social media accounts terminated, all for reporting things that were labeled “Dangerous, derogatory, unreliable and harmful,” all because what we were reporting or asking questions about “contradicts authoritative, scientific consensus.”
