  US media organizations that accuse President Donald Trump of making thousands of false or misleading claims since entering office are guilty of the same offense, and in many cases are worse offenders, an American scholar says.

  “The very mainstream media that is calling out Trump’s lies and perhaps even exaggerating Trump’s lies is itself lying all the time,” said Kevin Barrett, an author, journalist and radio host with a Ph.D.  in Islamic and Arabic Studies.

  “If we were counting mainstream media lies over the same period, it’s quite possible that the mainstream media would have told far more lies and certainly, in many cases, much greater ones that the lies that Trump is telling,” Barrett told Press TV on Thursday.

  “So when the mainstream media calls out Trump for lying, they really should look in the mirror because they are actually vastly worse and much more sinister liars than Trump ever could be because they are more effective liars,” he added.

  Trump has made more false and misleading claims in 2019 than in 2017 and 2018 combined, according to a check by media.
