Violence broke out between police and protesters in Hong Kong on Sunday, as the city-state saw its worst unrest since the start of its pro-democracy campaign in June. In scenes that were widely circulated in the media, one of the rallies saw masked activists attacking riot officers, who responded by aiming pistols at demonstrators. The photos of police threatening protesters were prominently displayed in a number of leading publications. Here’s one video of the incident though. The footage presents a far less clear picture of which side was in the wrong.
