Israel: Netanyahu Says Gaza Campaign Not Over After Ceasefire Reached

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said “that this is not the end of the campaign,” on Monday after a ceasefire brokered in the early morning brought an end to Israeli-Palestinian hostilities which had intensified over the weekend. “I have instructed [the military] to be prepared going forward and I have instructed [the military] to also keep the tanks and artillery forces around the Gaza Strip,” Netanyahu added. He stated that “in the past two days we have renewed our policy of assassinating terrorist commanders, we killed dozens of Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists and we toppled terror towers. We have changed the rules of the game, and Hamas understands this well.” Violence in the Gaza-Israel conflict escalated over the weekend, with Hamas and Israel exchanging rocket fire and air strikes on Saturday and Sunday, resulting in the deaths of four Israelis and at least 25 Palestinians.
