  The Israeli military fired at a group of young men near Khan Younis in southern Gaza, reports in the Strip said. No casualties were reported. It is unclear at this stage whether the group was targeted for approaching the border fence or launching incendiary kites into Israel.

  The reports came two days after Israeli forces opened fire at a Palestinian man who had fired shots at them in the northern Gaza Strip. The violence unfolded despite the fact that a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel went into effect last Wednesday. The truce is part of a wider agreement, which is being brokered by Egypt and the United Nations.

  The agreement is expected to be announced this week, Egyptian sources told Al-Hayat newspaper Saturday, and will include a commitment to rebuild Gaza’s infrastructure and a prisoner swap to secure the release of Israeli civilians and soldiers’ remains held by the Palestinian organization.
