Zarif: Global Consensus on Need to Keep JCPOA – Iran Nuclear Deal

  Iran’s foreign minister says there is a clear global consensus on the need to preserve the 2015 nuclear deal. Mohammad Javad Zarif made the comment after holding talks with Singapore’s President, as well as the foreign ministers of New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia. The meetings happened on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit. Zarif also met with EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini. They discussed how Iran can benefit from the nuclear deal following the U-S withdrawal. In a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Zarif said China has played a pivotal role in implementing the agreement. Wang Yi said Beijing’s cooperation with Tehran is legal.
