Beijing says the US measures against China’s investments are against World Trade Organization rules, and that the country reserves the right to take counter-measures. China’s commerce ministry has, however, said that the country is not willing to see an escalation of trade tensions, and that the two countries have a huge potential for cooperation. Washington also said that it will press ahead with restrictions on investment by Chinese companies in the United States.
