UK Arms Sales to Israel Hit Record Level in 2017

  A new report reveals that the United Kingdom is selling record amounts of arms to Israel. The Campaign Against Arms Trade organization says in 20-17 the UK sold weapons worth 221 million pounds to Israel. The figure indicates a huge increase compared to 86 million pounds in 20-16 and 20 million pounds in 20-15. Now Israel is UK arms companies’ eighth largest market. The arms exported to Israel include missiles, weapon sights and sniper rifles. The revelation comes amid ongoing clashes in the Gaza Strip. Israel has stepped up its attacks on Gaza ever since Palestinians began the Great March of Return protests on March 30. Since then, Israeli forces have killed at least 124 Palestinians and injured thousands more.
