    As NATO continues to show an unwillingness to cooperate with Turkey, the country is moving closer to establishing military ties with Russia. What does this mean for the United States? To discuss this, former US diplomat Jim Jatras joins RT America’s Ashlee Banks and says Turkish President Erdogan is “taking active steps to alienate both the US and Europe” by implying the US was behind an attempted coup in the country and by talking about reinstituting the death penalty. Jatras also explains that the “toughest nut” between a Turkey-Russia alliance is Turkey’s insistence that President Assad must be replaced in Syria.
