Japan Expresses Concern Over “China Threat”

  Japan warned that unintended consequences could result from Beijing’s QUOTE assertive disregard of international rules. The review comes as China’s navy held massive drills in the East China Sea, firing dozens of missiles and torpedoes. China said that the aim of the drills is to improve QUOTE- “the intensity, precision, stability and speed” of its forces. China condemned Japan’s defense review for hyping up the “China threat” theory. Beijing said Japan seeks excuses to step up military spending, accusing it of evil intentions towards China’s legitimate defense needs.
