The commander of the Iranian army’s ground forces accuses a number of regional countries, most notably, Saudi Arabia, of helping terrorist groups draw close to Iran’s borders. Brigadier general Ahmad Reza Pourdastan was speaking in an exclusive interview with Press TV. General Pourdastan noted that Iran has defined a 40-kilometer perimeter around its borders as a red line and any terrorist group trying to cross that line will meet a firm response. Speaking of Iran’s military drills Pourdastan said the war games are aimed at strengthening the country’s defensive capabilities and deterrence in the face of any foreign threat.
