The United States has cautioned its citizens against travelling to any parts of the world, citing a spike in terrorist threats. The State Department advisory, in a statement, warned the citizens that a number of terrorist groups including Daesh, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram continue to plan terrorist attacks in multiple regions. The department urged the citizens to exercise vigilance when in public places or using transportation. It further called on Americans to exercise particular caution during the holiday season. The travel alert will remain effective until February 24. US officials have tightened security measures across the country in the wake of Paris attacks on November 13.
