Hundreds of British academics have promised to boycott Israel over its aggressive policies against Palestinians. 343 academics from 72 institutions, including the Oxford and Cambridge universities, have signed a letter that’s going to be published as a full-page advertisement in The Guardian newspaper on Tuesday. The signatories have stated that they’re deeply disturbed by Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestinian land and intolerable human rights violations. Momentum is growing for a global campaign against Israel in international academic establishments and financial institutions. The campaign calls for the boycott of Israel on economic, cultural and intellectual levels.
