Rights Groups: Israeli Troops Using Excessive Force Against Palestinian Kids

Rights groups have condemned the use of excessive force by Israeli forces against Palestinian children in violation of international law. The Defense for Children International says Israel has been using disproportionate violence against Palestinian children with complete impunity. U-N estimates show more than 200 Palestinian children were injured by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank and Gaza in the course of a week in October. At least ten children were killed this month during the unrest in the occupied territories. The unrest was triggered last month by Israeli incursions into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Israeli forces have used tear gas, stun grenades, rubber bullets, and live ammunition against Palestinian demonstrators, including children.
