The head of the International Monetary Fund says a Greek exit from the eurozone is a possibility. Christine Lagarde said such a move would not be easy, but it would not signify an end to the single currency. The IMF chief also rejected Athens’ assertion that a deal with its international lenders to unlock bailout funds is imminent. Lagarde’s remarks came as an EU spokesman earlier said Greece and its lenders are three quarters of the way to reach an agreement to unlock much-needed bailout funds. The Greek team is now in Brussels with the aim of concluding the deal within the next days. If Athens fails to come to the deal, there is a fear it could default on its loans.
