This is what the cops say actually happened to Freddie Gray. We are not demeaning Freddie Gray’s death in any way but are trying to illustrate how ludicrous the police explanation is that he killed himself in the back of the police van.

On the same day we learned that the Baltimore Police had been caught by surveillance cameras lying about the number of stops they made while “rough riding” Freddie Gray, a report, written by the police, purportedly from an anonymous prisoner still in custody, says he believes Gray “was intentionally trying to injure himself.” Is it credible that he would sever his spine, cutting it 80% of the way through? Is the prisoner under pressure or duress to make a statement that would remove blame from the BPD?
