Our galaxy is one of the oldest. Which means spacefaring civilizations have probably been around for hundreds of millions if not billions of years. The Earth has been coveted for A LONG time. It is a protected ecosystem, much like the Galapagos Islands. No one is allowed to take it over, or harvest here and races we cannot conceive of keep the peace and prevent invasions. (Although there has been a lot of poaching of the wildlife going on, and the Earth is littered with the remains of past incursions.) If the insane monkeys/rodents are destroying their habitat, all bets are off, and the rodents can then be culled and controlled (For their own good and that of their environment). The excuse “We didn’t know any better” doesn’t quite cut it. If we don’t want to see this place turned into a planet wide chicken farm (With us as the chickens) we better wake up and start acting responsibly!
