The U-S Secretary of State John Kerry has warned Russia and the pro-Russians that any recognition of the elections in eastern Ukraine violates the Minsk agreement. Kerry’s comments come after Russia announced that it would recognize the elections, adding that they should be held next week as scheduled. The Russian announcement has angered officials in Kiev who have accused Moscow of violating the truce deal agreed in September. A spokesman for the Ukrainian president said the elections threaten the entire peace process.
