  More than 70 bodies were pulled from a river bank in a rebel-held section of Aleppo in Syria, today, most bound and shot at close range through the head, a sign of insane brutality typical of al Qaeda. While the British/Qatar news service al Jazeera reports that the youth were arrested by government forces and blames the government for the murders, and films of the gruesome spectacle are being played around the world, state news agency Sana reported that the families of the victims had “identified a number of the killed, stressing that the al-Nusra Front abducted them because of their refusal to co-operate.” The Telegraph report, while blaming the government, admits that “of those identified, at least half the total by nightfall were from rebel-held districts. A senior government security source told AFP that many of the victims had been reported kidnapped earlier.
