NATO has warned about the possible resumption of heavy fighting in Ukraine, as government forces and pro-Russia militias continue to violate a ceasefire agreement reached in February. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has also warned Russia against supporting pro-Moscow forces in eastern Ukraine. He said implementing the truce deal is the best chance for peace and urged all parties to respect the agreement. Stoltenberg added that NATO remains committed to Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and would not recognize Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea. NATO accuses Russia of being involved in the Ukrainian conflict. Moscow, however, has repeatedly denied the accusation. Violence in eastern Ukraine has claimed 65-hundred lives since March 2014.
