Colombia says it’s planning to investigate allegations of sexual abuse of children by U-S contractors and military staff. The announcement comes after a recently published report revealed that 53 Colombian minors were sexually abused by U-S military staff in the South American country. The report was released by the Colombian government and FARC rebel group. The U-S soldiers were also said to have filmed the acts and sold the tapes. The Colombian Welfare Family Institute has called for an active search for the victims. The Office of the Ombudsman, who monitors human rights in Colombia, has rejected the accusations. U-S troops have access to military bases of Colombia’s central regions.
