Following extreme weather and severe flooding in the Gaza strip this week, rescue teams have helped thousands of Palestinians evacuate their homes. The United Nations has declared a state of emergency in Gaza City. Among those affected were families whose homes were destroyed by Israel’s 50-day war during the summer. More than two-thousand people, mostly Palestinian civilians, died in the conflict. According to U-N figures, over 100 thousand Palestinians remain homeless three months after the Israeli offensive.
