  The Russian city of Pskov, near the territory of NATO members Estonia and Latvia, has come under attack by a swarm of drones in the early hours of Wednesday. The regional governor confirmed the raid, while videos showing an explosion and air defenses lighting up the night sky made rounds on social media.

  The Russian military is “repelling a drone attack” on the Pskov airport, regional head Mikhail Vedernikov confirmed on Telegram, adding he was on site “since the start of the incident.”

  “Initial information says there were no casualties. We’re working to assess property damage,” Vedernikov added. Russian authorities have briefly closed the airspace in the region, while the Pskov airport cancelled all flights on August 30 to assess potential damage to the runway.
