European Union Now Has Competition | Macron Challenges EU and US with 44-Nation Bloc

The COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukrainian crisis have shown us that the EU was too slow to understand the influence of the United States, Russia and China on its socio-economic unity. To deal with these concerns, EU leaders agreed in June 2022 to launch a 44-nation European Political Community, called the EPC. The EPC was inaugurated in Prague after French President Emmanuel Macron first pitched the European Political Community as a response to Ukraine’s crisis. Why is Macron pushing for a 44-nation European Political Community now?
