Media ‘is Playing Games’ in Wake of US Election
- Sky News Australia
Sky News host Chris Kenny says there are “games being played by the media” as the front cover of Time Magazine post the 2020 election was markedly different from that of 2016 which featured the White House “being taken over by Russian influence”. While the election has yet to be officially certified, Joe Biden has been declared the president-elect after preforming strongly in a number of swing states. Mr Biden won back the blue wall – Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin – which Hillary Clinton lost in 2016. However, the Trump campaign has launched a slew of lawsuits alleging mail-in voter fraud. Mr Kenny said it was interesting to look at “the games of the media being played” during this period of dispute. “You have a look at the latest edition of Time Magazine and its a wonderful cover calling for unity and healing in the United States, it’s exactly the sort of cover of Time Magazine that Joe Biden would like to see,” he said. “You go back four years and not long after Trump was inaugurated, look at the front cover then, you’ve got the White House being taken over by St Basil’s in Russia. They’ve got the White House being taken over by Russian influence. “There wasn’t too much unity and healing back in those times.”
