Iran says it expects the European Union to accelerate the process of providing practical guarantees for the implementation of the 2015 nuclear deal following the U-S withdrawal. In his weekly briefing, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman said the future cooperation depends on the proposals being studied but the final stage of negotiations is yet to be reached. Bahram Qassemi noted that a broad agreement is a great test for the European Union to distinguish its role on the world stage. The spokesman acknowledged that such complicated issues cannot be settled among the bloc’s 28 members under a deadline. He, however, underlined that Iran overcomes its needs through domestic capabilities rather than foreign assistance.
