  A LEADING Italian MP has praised the “incredible” results of the EU migration deal, but demanded that Angela Merkel and the other EU countries have to stick to the plan or Europe will collapse.

  Italian MP Manilo Di Stefano has heralded a huge “breakthrough” for the EU following the last-minute migration deal struck earlier today. However, he warned German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Visegrad countries that fate of the European Union rests on the migration deal working.

  The Five-Star Movement politician said that the “incredible” deal was a rare sign of solidarity between European member-states. Mr Di Stefano insisted that Italy’s European partners understood that the Brussels bloc had to either fix the migration crisis or the EU would collapse.

  The deal struck in the early hours of this morning was an attempt to please the Italian eurosceptic government and the German coalition under intense domestic pressure.
