  Turkey warns the Syrian government of consequences if it strikes a deal with Kurdish militants against Ankara’s military intervention in the Arab country. Turkish media says President Rajeb Tayyip Erdogan has conveyed the message to Russian President Vladimir Putin during a phone conversation. Erdogan has also told Putin that Ankara’s military incursion into Syria’s Afrin region will continue as planned. A source in Erdogan’s government confirmed that the two leaders had talked, saying they discussed the latest developments in Syria. Earlier, the Turkish foreign minister sent a similar message to Damascus, warning it against siding with Kurdish YPG militants.
