Yemen’s former President Ali Abdullah Saleh has been killed by Houthi rebels close to the capital, Sanaa. The escalation has led the United Nations to call for an end to the conflict. However, on Saturday, he made a public break from the Shiite opposition fighters. That was seen as a betrayal by the Houthis.
