A RARE briefing on North Korea will be held at the White House for the entire US senate amid deteriorating relations between the West and Pyongyang.–
Senior officials in President Donald Trump’s administration are calling all 100 senators to Capitol Hill for an unusual meeting on the secretive regime, headed by dictator Kim Jong-un.
Senior aides confirmed Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defence Jim Mattis, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff will hold the briefing. The meeting is due to take places on Wednesday 3pm local time, and aides said they were working towards holding a similar meeting for members of the House of Representatives.
While they routinely travel to the White House for briefings, it is highly irregular for the entire 100-strong Senate to be summoned to a singular event, or for one to involve all four top officials
