The Kremlin says it’s highly concerned by NATO’s increasing military buildup just very close to Russian borders. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu says the US missile facilities in Romania could be used for deploying Tomahawk cruise missiles. Shoigu added that the western military alliance is building a similar facility in Poland. He also talked about NATO’s ongoing modernization of its military structure in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and the Baltic states. The Russian Defense Minister criticized the US-led NATO for its recent war games near the Russian borders. He said the number of drills has more than doubled recently. The tension between Russia and NATO escalated following the outbreak of conflict in eastern Ukraine. Moscow says NATO is justifying its eastward expansion by accusing Russia of supporting Ukrainian militia.
