France is concerned about Israel’s decision to seize large tracts of land in the occupied West Bank. The French Foreign Ministry spokesman has called the Israeli settlements in occupied territories a violation of international law. Romain Nadal says the expansion contradicts a two-state solution. The UN and the US have slammed the move as an impediment to the two-state solution. On Tuesday, it was revealed that Israel confiscated 234 hectares of land in an area south of Jericho in the occupied West Bank on March 10 to expand nearby settlements and build trade and tourism projects.
