  The North Korean leader says Pyongyang should always be ready to fire nuclear warheads in the face of a growing threat from its enemies. Kim Jong-Un says the military must be prepared to carry out pre-emptive attacks. He also described the current situation on the Korean Peninsula as very precarious. Kim made the remarks while supervising the exercise of newly-developed multiple rocket launchers. In a reaction to the remarks, the US said that the North should refrain from provocative actions that aggravate tensions. Washington also downplayed Pyongyang’s ability to use nukes. This after the UN Security Council approved the toughest sanctions in two decades on the North over its recent nuclear test and long-range rocket launch.
