China’s Foreign Ministry has fired back at threats by the US on their activities in the much disputed South China Sea. Beijing urged Washington not to “sensationalize” the South China Sea dispute. This, after US Defense Secretary Ash Carter warned China against their military actions in the region, including the placement of surface-to-air missiles on a disputed island. Carter made the comment despite the fact that the US has been expanding its military presence in the South China Sea.
