China has warned the United States against deploying a missile system in South Korea. Foreign Minister Wang Yi says the military deployment would directly affect China’s security interests in the region. He added that the THAAD may also serve to target China. South Korea says the advanced missile system is a response to Pyongyang’s recent long-range rocket launch which put a satellite into orbit. Washington and Seoul denounced the move as a cover for an intercontinental ballistic missile test. South Korea also pulled out of the Kaesong industrial complex in response to Pyongyang’s rocket launch. It cut off power and water supplies to the factory park a day after Pyongyang deported all South Korean workers and ordered a military takeover of the complex.
