Israeli forces have fired artillery shells into southern Lebanon after rockets were fired into northern Israel from the country. The attack came shortly after three rockets fired from Lebanon’s south landed in Israel, wailing the sirens there. Reports say the rockets were fired into Israel from an area south of the Lebanese port city of Tyre. The attacks came shortly after prominent Hezbollah member Samir Quntar was killed in an airstrike in Syria. But observers say it’s unlikely Hezbollah has been behind the rocket fire into Israel as the resistance group has in the past dismissed reports of similar attacks from Tyre by its members.
