  Damascus denounced the downing of the jet over its airspace as flagrant aggression against Syria’s sovereignty. Syrian media have described Turkey’s act as a show of support for terrorist groups that are collapsing under the Syrian army’s blow. A Syrian military source said such desperate acts of aggression will only reinforce their determination to battle terrorist groups with the support of their allies. Hours after the incident, the US president said it’s too early to comment but his top priority is to prevent an escalation.
