The rights group, in its latest report, has spotted a clear pattern of lethal force being used by Israeli soldiers in dealing with Palestinians. It says there’s a growing trend of Israeli forces shooting to kill in completely unjustified situations. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least 64 Palestinians have lost their lives to the violence by Israeli forces and settlers since the beginning of October. The flare-up sees its roots in Israel’s numerous attacks on the al-Aqsa Mosque revered by Muslims. The aggression then triggered a series of run-over and knife attacks against Israelis. Now, Amnesty is asking Tel Aviv to bring all those responsible to justice. But it also points to faults with Israel’s justice system, saying it serves to perpetuate impunity for unlawful killings of Palestinians.
