Saudi army forces have entered Yemen and taken control of a number of mountainous border regions. The Saudi military spokesman Brigadier General Ahmed al-Asiri says the areas overlook the southern Saudi region of Jizan. Saudi military bases in that area are widely targeted by Yemeni forces in retaliatory operations. Saudi military commanders have said the invasion is a temporary military strategy aimed at stopping Yemeni attacks. Meanwhile, fresh Saudi attacks on the northern province of Sa’ada have killed at least 9 people, including one child. At least ten people were also injured. Saudi warplanes also bombed several areas in the capital Sana’a and the central province of Ma’rib. More than five-thousand people have been killed since Riyadh unleashed its war on Yemen in March 26.
