Brigadier General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, the chief of aerospace command of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the IRGC, says the maneuver is meant to show that ballistic missiles are still on the agenda of Iran’s defense doctrine. He also says Iran has been able to obtain significant achievements in this area over the past two years. General Hajizadeh has emphasized that the IRGC has carried out several missile drills based on a previously agreed timetable. He however noted that informing the public about the drills is the responsibility of Iran Supreme National Security Council, not the IRGC.
