Russian media reported that Putin personally summoned the Turkish ambassador to Moscow to issue a verbal ultimatum to Ankara. He warned Umit Yardim that Russia will immediately sever diplomatic ties with Turkey if it does not change its foreign policy regarding Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. According to leaked information obtained by The Moscow Times, Putin described Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a dictator. The paper quoted Putin as saying that Russia is prepared to turn Syria into a big Stalingrad for Turkey, its Saudi allies, and their vicious little gang of Hitlers. The Russian president also said his country won’t abandon Syria’s legitimate administration and will cooperate with its allies to find a political solution to the ongoing crisis in the country.
