  Members of the Battle Creek’s Emergency Response Team, including police, fire and other personnel, are participating with other local, state and federal law enforcement and disaster recovery teams this week in the statewide Michigan National Guard Northern Exposure exercise. The exercise started today and will continue through Saturday at locations in Battle Creek, Grayling, Alpena, Selfridge, Lansing, Muskegon, Grand Rapids and Kentwood. According to a news release from the city, the full-scale exercise is a rehearsal for the response to a nuclear explosion in real time.
