  He made the remarks in a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim Jafari in Baghdad. Zarif said Iran firmly believes that the main task in fighting the ISIL is to halt any assistance to the terrorists. He noted that countries willing to provide advisory or military assistance to Baghdad, must respect Iraq’s sovereignty. Zarif cautioned that any assistance must take place in total coordination with the Iraqi government. For his part, the Iraqi foreign minister said Baghdad welcomes any cooperation in line with the nation’s sovereignty.
