Over six months have passed since Israel waged its deadly summer assault on the people of Gaza. And still, thousands of people in the war-torn territory are homeless. Israelis forces killed and maimed thousands of people during that war.

Close to one hundred thousand homes in the blockaded coastal enclave were either completely or partially destroyed during the Israeli aggression. Many are still living in makeshift dwellings while others are living in UN schools which have been turned into shelters. People are complaining about the hard living conditions and their inability to provide proper housing for their families.

There is hardly any reconstruction of bombarded buildings due to lack of building materials. Only minor repairs are being made to partially destroyed homes. The UN continues to provide shelter for hundreds of families who were made homeless during the Israeli war. Conditions there are inadequate especially for Palestinians families who have many children. People there have appealed to the international community for help.
