32-year-old Fadel Mohammed Halawa was hit in the back. The bullet was apparently fired from an Israeli army watchtower near the man’s farm close to the occupied territories. The deadly shooting marks the first killing of a Gazan since Israel’s fifty-day war ended in August. The latest onslaught on the besieged territory left over twenty-one hundred Palestinians dead and ten-thousand others injured.
